Rooney Denies Transfer Request; Has Officially Cried Wolf

David Moyes has officially taken over his duties at Manchester United this week and one of his first priorities has to be sorting out this obnoxious Wayne Rooney situation. With Sir Alex now out of the manager’s seat, questions have arose about whether or not Rooney will indeed stay at the club with a possible change in tactics.  Rooney reportedly had not enjoyed his time playing in a forward midfield role during much of the season, as well as missing out on big games for the club and was criticized by his manager for his fitness level. Towards the end of the season, Ferguson admitted that Rooney had requested a transfer before the final two games and was therefore left out of the squad.

After former assistant coach Mike Phelan recently went on the radio and confirmed that Rooney had put in his transfer request, the second of his career at United, Rooney’s camp has hit back saying the opposite.  Rooney is now claiming that he never requested a transfer and has asked the club to make a statement saying just that.  Here’s where I start to get annoyed.

It’s enough already.  Make up your god damn mind.  Do you want to leave or don’t you? Of course I’d rather have Rooney in the squad, happy, and playing as one of the best forwards in the world.  But if he is going to keep up with this shit I’m sick of it.  The first time around I was angry and felt betrayed that he wanted to leave.  This time I’m all “getthefuckout”. Maybe he is just trying for another ridiculous increase in his already astronomical salary, maybe he is happier with Moyes as manager, maybe he is a chronic fence-sitter.  Whatever it is, just make up your mind bro.  We’ve heard this story too many times now and it’s getting to the point where no one is going to listen.
