Everton Reject Man United’s Latest Bid for Leighton Baines

Well, that came and went pretty quickly.  Leighton Baines has long been a target for Manchester United, even well before David Moyes was in the picture.  And since Moyes made a move from the blue Merseyside, it seemed like the odds were considerably better in getting Baines.  But nah nah says new Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Apparently Everton have turned down a £10 million offer for the talented left back. With Patrice Evra entering the tail end of his career the ideal move for Moyes would be to get a solid replacement in there, especially someone he has experience working with.

So either a higher offer is going to be needed, or United are going to have to look elsewhere. With Alexander Buttner and Fabio the only other real options, the Red Devils may be interested in a more experienced LB to fill the shoes of Evra.
