Rooney Not Thinking About Transfer, Confirms He Does Indeed Still Have It

Alright mirons09, I see your Clint Dempsey golazo and raise you a Wayne Rooney thunder-strike.

Wayne Rooney has been at the center of probably the biggest transfer rumours over the last few weeks (arguably the last few years).  The disgruntled striker has put in a transfer request out of Manchester Unite after he had a down year which saw his playing time limited and his primary role shifted.  With the arrival of RVP to Manchester United he seems to no longer be the top man.

This, naturally, has led to speculation from pundits and fans that perhaps the England striker is past his prime and a move out of the EPL wouldn’t be the worst idea for him.  Rooney moved to squash some of that speculation over the weekend in England’s friendly matchup against Brazil at the home of next summer’s World Cup.  With the majority of the game being a clinic put on by the Brazilians, it was going to take a bit of magic for England to score.  They got one off a rebound by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain only to be answered minutes later by Fred.  Then came the moment of brilliance by Rooney as he received a ball from Milner on the wing about 40 yards out from goal.  He took two touches towards goal and let one rip into the far corner.  Beauty.
