Express UK: Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes looks set to seal his Nou Camp departure and join free-spending Monaco this week, in doing so passing up interest from Arsenal. Valdes has been insistent on leaving the La Liga champions this summer, with his current contract at the club due to expire at the end of next season.
Atletico Madrid hitman Radamel Falcao is also set to join the moneybags French side for around £50m this summer, who are hoping to challenge for the Ligue 1 title next season.
Monaco FC making some serious moves! If you thought that PSG were the only French top side who had the ability to buy the shirt off your back then you were dead wrong. The newly promoted Ligue 1 team is currently chasing after signatures from limbo artist Victor Valdes and Atletico stud Radamel Falcao.
Russian money striking again here. The oligarch Dmirty Rybolovlev has already scooped up FC Porto’s Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez the other day for combined £60 million and is keeping the money train rolling.
These moves by Monaco are the first of what very well could be waves of interest in the club. It is also rumoured that they are in pursuit of Branislav Ivanovic, Carlos Tevez, Vincent Kompany, Andy Carroll and Bakari Sagna. Christ on a bike guys; there is even a rumour about Wayne fucking Rooney! Oh and they are also on the heels of signing Roberto Mancini as their manager! Where do I get a Monaco FC Kit? Kitbag? EuroSport? The 2013-2014 kits better be a step up from last seasons:
If you really think about it though, it could be a perfect fit for footballs biggest stars. Monaco has tons of money, a shady government, an incredible coast line and NO INCOME TAX. Your paychecks will actually be €150,000 per week. No silly Euro Socialist/Obama taxes taken out! Can you imagine that? I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see Monaco FC emerge as a new powerhouse in Ligue 1 over the next few seasons. Mostly because Ligue 1 is a complete joke, but also because not paying taxes to play on a solid club while sitting on a beach having drinks served out of coconuts doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend your days off.
