That’s All Folks

And there we have it, the EPL season has come to an end and last day drama was as good as usual.  Nothing quite beats the final day of the EPL season with all games being played at once and usually at least one major story line going on.  This year all 3 relegated teams were determined before the final day, so that means all 3 really deserved to go down, so good riddance.

And we’ve got two of our newly promoted teams already in place with Cardiff City and Hull securing the top two spots in the Championship.  That puts us at two Welsh teams in the EPL next year, which I think is pretty neat.  And welcome back Craig Bellamy! (?)

Watford and Crystal Palace will do battle next Monday for the final spot in the EPL, which is always a great game to watch as well.

In other final day drama, Arsenal just got past Tottenham for the final spot in next years Champions League.  Tottenham needed a win and either a draw or loss from Arsenal to get that coveted final spot, but it was not to be as Arsenal was able to pull out the win despite Gareth Bale’s best efforts.

So that’s your season.  Man United, Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal in your top 4 and into the Champions League with Tottenham and Everton qualifying for the Europa League (geehhhhhh).  And QPR, Wigan, and Reading all sent back down to the Championship to fight for another chance to get back up next year.

Now, we have rumours and other off-season shenanigans to look forward to!
