Cristiano Ronaldo continued his scoring ways in the Champions League last night with 2 more goals, tying him for 5th all time in Champions League history. Real Madrid traveled to Istanbul with a 3-0 lead on aggregate from the first leg, leaving the rowdy Galatasary fans a bit on edge.
Ronaldo opened the scoring early with an easy tap in from a cross, all but killing off Gala right away. Emmanuel Eboue pulled one back for the home team on the hour mark with an absolute smash from distance.
This gave the Turks some hope but in all honesty they were down and out from the minute Ronaldo stepped on the pitch. Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba were able to pull two more back for Gala within minutes of each other to make it a bit interesting. But even one more goal wouldn’t have done it on the away goals rule. Not to worry though, as Ronaldo came back and finished it off late in the game, Real advance 5-3 on aggregate.
