Champs League Review: Real Dispatch Gala; Dortmund Flounder at Malaga

We told you here at CotW about Galatasary’s fans attacking a local radio station for predicting that Real Madrid would beat the Turkish side in the first leg of their Quarter final tie at the Bernabeu.  Well, they did beat them.  Pretty bad.

I mean come on, what did they really expect?  I guess they didn’t riot or anything after the game, but why attack a radio station for predicting what was already pretty obvious?

Anyway, Real put Galatasaray to the sword pretty hard with Ronaldo, Higuain, and Benzema all netting in a 3-0 romp in Madrid setting up a pretty easy second leg tie back in Istanbul.

Full highlights here (not easy to find).  Ronaldo with a cheeky chip to open the scoring….

(Side Note: What’s the deal with Cristiano’s celebrations?  He’s all “everyone calm down, don’t celebrate, this is normal” after he scores his goals these days.)

The other Quarter final matchup last night had the heavily favored Borussia Dortmund side traveling to Spain to take on Malaga.  Dortmund put in an overall pretty wasteful effort, the game ended in a 0-0 draw.  Dortmund will still be heavily favored when the sides meet next week in Gelsenkirchen.

Highlights here…. if you wanna, like, see nothing…
