So club football came back to us this past weekend, and what a wait it was. Thank god for that.
And, per usual, it was well worth the wait as this weekend brought us some cheeky flicks, fine finishes, and full-stretch saves from across the Premier League. I’ve decided this week to bring a weekend round-up of scores and goals combined with a glimpse of some of the top cheekiness displayed across the EPL. There seemed to be an extra amount of cheek this week, so I was inspired to bring you the best. Also, some of our favorites showed their face this weekend (see: Bale, Berbatov, etc.) in cheeky form so I just couldn’t pass up this opportunity.
WARNING: Extreme Cheek Below
United fight for 3 points at Sunderland, win 1-0, RVP with a cheeky turn
A couple of cheeky moments to choose from Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Swansea, both including our man Bale. But this below took the cake for me. I don’t think the ‘keeper knew Bale was shooting until it was in the net. Vertonghen with an honorable mention.
Cazorla is a common provider of great cheekiness, and this strike for Arsenal on their way to a 4-1 drubbing of Reading was another fine showing. Cheeky curl.
We already showed you Rickie Lambert’s sensational curling free kick to put away a sad looking Chelsea side 2- 1 at the weekend. So instead of a cheek from this game we’ve got John “Slip and Fall” Terry doing what he does best. Idiot.
Not so much a cheek here, just a splendid goal from Everton’s Kevin Mirallas. Also, I’m going to keep pounding this in: Belgium will make noise next summer.
Aaaaand quickly moving on…. This is pretty much the definition of cheeky. Jordan Henderson with a deft chip over Aston Villa’s keeeper, ‘pool win 2-1. Gerrard gets an honorable mention for this unreal save.
Berbatov! I always love me some Berbatov cheek and not only did he have a goal in Fulham’s 3-2 win over QPR, but he displayed some of his classic touch in this video below. An honorable mention to a somewhat cheeky finish from Berbatov as well.
So that pretty much wraps up the EPL’s latest goals, cheeks, and final scores from the weekend past. And no one cares about the FA Cup, AMIRITE?
