Well Arsenal flew right past this one as the kids were screaming in the back seat. There was a chance, albeit very small, that Arsenal could really turn things around last night, right the ship, and beat Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League clash. It would have done wonders for their morale and their season, not to mention loosen the vice grip around Wenger’s balls.
If you’re an Arsenal fan right, I honestly feel bad for you. That was a heartbreak of all heartbreaks. If you missed it, Arsenal put up a very valiant effort at the Alianz Arena against an arguably stronger side. Needing 3 away goals it would never be easy, but an early strike from Giroud gave the last standing English club a chance. They came close but with only one more goal from Koscielny in the 85th, it would not be enough.
I was pulling for Arsenal in this game, no doubt. Nothing against the German super power, but as an EPL fan you have to pull for your domestic clubs in the elite European competition. And I never thought they had a chance, but what an effort they put in and all credit to them. I’m sure it’s no consolation, but it’s gotta count for something. Nothing seems to be going Wenger’s way this year.
