Yeah yeah yeah, we know, Barcelona is the greatest team in the history of teams and greatness. They quieted the doubters (did you really doubt them?) and thoroughly raped AC Milan last night. But my question is, was it really the best game last night? It had the biggest profile and all the stars and the history of the two clubs is massive, but my argument is for Schalke vs Galatasaray as the tie of this round.
Come on! Drogba? Wesley Sneijder?
Huntelaar? Farfan? Turkey? Germany? What more could you ask for? Well, probably a lot, but still, it was a great tie. Tied 1-1 after the first leg, the Turkish club traveled to Gelsekirchen (try to say that without sounding angry) for what was always going to be a tough matchup. It was a battle of attrition and after an early goal from Schalke it was always going to be an uphill battle for the away side. But they fired two back in quick succession with this hammer blast from Hamit Altintop (remember him?):
Then in the 95th minute Umut Bulut (awesome) grabbed the winner sending the unlikely Turks on to the next round. Full highlights and some jibberish below, I advise you watch.
