USA Today: UEFA has stated that it stands behind the referee’s decision, but many Manchester United fans feel robbed. One even called Nottinghamshire Police to report the referee while watching the game on television. Thinking that the red card decision was a viable crime, an 18-year-old fan picked up his phone and dialed 999 (the emergency number in the United Kingdom). The police force reprimanded the fan for crying wolf but will not take further action.
I really don’t hate this move. Man United was robbed! I’m not even a United Fan (however as of last week, I am a shareholder and the day after this match, their stock dropped .25 per share; so I was outraged, I want my money back Çakır you insurance selling piece of shit!). I feel like this kids call to 999 (lol Metric system?) is justified. In 2003, I thought about pulling this move when Aaron Boone hit a walk off home run off Tim Wakefield in Game 7 of the ALCS. It was the first time in my life that I actually drank myself to sleep, so I feel your pain.
